However I’m very excited to say that Manifestly Important Ltd. will be continuing their work with Asda’s ISD department for the remainder of 2013 - we have been offered the opportunity to work on a very high-profile and strategic transformation programme.

This is absolutely excellent news, as is the recent offer from Bradford University’s School of Management to be a guest speaker there in the not too distant future.

Happy New Year!

Well Christmas has been and gone already…!

So, as we are about to head into 2013, Manifestly Important wanted to wish all contacts/followers the utmost success next year. We are looking forward to another busy one and will provide a further update in early January.

Merry Christmas from Manifestly Important Ltd.

Manifestly Important Ltd. would like to wish all clients, colleagues and followers of our blog a very Merry Christmas.

2012 has been an extremely busy one, spent working with our two biggest clients (Aviva & Asda) on a range of exciting and strategic projects, and we are now looking forward to some ‘relaxation’ time over the festive period.

Guess who's back...back again

With the batteries now fully charged I am pleased to announce that Manifestly Important’s services have, once again, been secured by Asda; for a six month Programme Management assignment.

Really looking forward to working with the ‘Asda colleagues’ delivering some very interesting & exciting projects.

For good behaviour...

Due to unexpected personal circumstances (ManifestlyImportant Jr. is having surgery this month) I’ve made the difficult decision to finish my current work with Aviva earlier than planned - I’d originally intended to be there until the end of August.

As such I’ll be spending the next few weeks with MI Jr. & the rest of the family; the past 16months working as an Interim Project/Programme Manager have been great but I’m really looking forward to recharging the batteries.

Normal service will be resumed…shortly!

Following a very successful and enjoyable time at Asda,...

Following a very successful and enjoyable time at Asda, Manifestly Important are now extremely pleased to be working with AVIVA UK Life on an exciting new Workplace Savings initiative.

Great to see a lot of ex-colleagues/friends again (after a year away) and also to meet some really talented/interesting new people.

This past week I had the pleasure of being invited to give a...

This past week I had the pleasure of being invited to give a short lecture on Project Governance & Gateways to the p/time MSc Project Management student at Leeds Metropolitan University.

It felt ‘weird’ to be back having graduated from that very course myself in 2005 - the students were extremely kind/patient and I’m looking forward to going back again soon.

2012 plans...what's in store?

I don’t know about you but January always feels like a tough month; but this year it also seemed to last forever! Anyway now that it’s over, and has been ‘survived’, then it’s time to turn to consider what the remaining 11 months have in store for Manifestly Important…

On a work front then I’m pleased to be continuing with an interim assignment at Asda until March; this has made for a refreshing change after working exclusively in Financial Services/Banking for the past few years - the pace of change & delivery within a Retail environment is dizzying at times but always rewarding.

Currently we are also working away in the background to deliver a web presence for a new organisation (‘Equinox Recycling’) which came about through the work done for 707 Resource Management in 2011. Busy, busy, busy…

In addition to this I am very excited to have been asked to contribute, in a visiting lecturing capacity, to the MSc in Project Management at Leeds Metropolitan University in February.

All in all it looks like this year will be a very interesting one for Manifestly Important Ltd.

Manifestly Important’s principal consultant (Paul Yeomans)...

Manifestly Important’s principal consultant (Paul Yeomans) was recently invited to talk to the MBA students at Leeds University’s Business School (LUBS) about the ‘practical’ realities of Project Management.

"Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible…"

“Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible…”

- Edwin Land, Inventor of Instant Photography
